This two-day course on June 27–28 at ASPE's headquarters in Rosemont, Illinois will cover the design, sizing, and equipment selection for storm drainage, domestic hot and cold water, water heating, sanitary sewer, and natural gas systems. Reminder: ASPE seeks plumbing design experts to serve on the Main Design Standards Committee
The Main Design Standards Committee is the consensus body having responsibility for the review and approval of all ASPE design standards, and we are currently taking applications for members in the User Group. To apply, please submit a completed application by April 5.

New UNESCO report highlights the inequality of water access
Globally, approximately 2.1 billion people still lack access to clean and continuously available drinking water, and those who are poor or marginalized often spend 10 to 20 times more for water than those who live in areas with piped systems, according to the 2019 World Water Development Report, Leaving No One Behind.

Labor shortage continues to challenge the construction industry
Seventy percent of commercial construction contractors are struggling to meet project deadlines, and 40 percent have had to turn down project offers because they didn't have enough people to do the work, according to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. More>>

Industry organizations win trade case against Chinese cast iron pipe producers
On March 20,  the United States International Trade Commission voted unanimously in favor of an antidumping duty and countervailing duty petition against imports of cast iron soil pipe from the People's Republic of China, which was filed by the Cast Iron Soil Pipe Institute and Charlotte Pipe. According to Bradley's newest Healthy Hand Washing Survey, one in two Americans are willing to spend more at businesses that have clean, well-maintained restrooms, and the percentage of those who will "definitely" or "probably" spend more money increased to 52% this year compared to 45% in 2018.
