2019 ASPE Tech Symposium presentation proposals are due tomorrow
This is your last chance to submit a presentation proposal for the 2019 ASPE Tech Symposium, which will be held in Pittsburgh on October 24–27. We are looking for 90-minute technical sessions on a variety of topics for plumbing system design professionals at all career levels. You can submit your proposal at aspe.org/CallforPresenters, and those who are chosen will be notified by May 1.
2019 Engineers Week starts on Sunday
This annual celebration is a time to increase public dialogue about the importance of engineers and to bring engineering to life for kids, educators, and parents to help encourage the next generation of professionals. ASPE encourages all of our members and industry friends to get involved and help spread the word about our exciting industry. ASPE's 2019 Workshop Series travels to Irvine next week
Act fast! Registration for the Intermediate Plumbing Design Workshop on February 21 and the Medical Gas Design Workshop on February 22, both in Irvine, California, closes tomorrow. ASPE also is holding a CPD Review Class in Irvine on February 23–24 to help candidates prepare to take the 2019 CPD exam, and registration for it also closes tomorrow.
Learn how to review sprinkler shop drawings at our next webinar
On March 20, presenter Richard Alpert, PE, will provide an introduction into the review of sprinkler system shop drawings from the perspective of the responsible engineer. He will explain the items required by NFPA 13 to be shown on shop drawings and the most common corrections found during the review process. This one-hour webinar awards 0.1 CEU or 1.0 PDH, and registration is open at aspe.org/ShopDrawingWebinar.
2019 CPD exam registration closes March 21
The 2019 Certified in Plumbing Design (CPD) exam has been extended to three days (April 3, 4, and 5), so you have even more opportunity to take the exam this year. In addition to the CPD Review Class in Irvine, ASPE is also holding a class in Pittsburgh on March 2–3. If you can't make it to one of the review classes, ASPE also offers the CPD Review Webinar Series and practice exams to help you prepare.
