Zurn Elkay Water Solutions Launches Zurn Wilkins® 900XL3 Series Small Backflow Preventer

Zurn Wilkins 975XL3Zurn Elkay Water Solutions has announced the release of the new 900XL3 series small backflow preventer.

Combining the best technology and innovations from two of Zurn Elkay’s popular small backflow preventers, the 300 series and the 900 series, the new Zurn Wilkins® 900XL3 series boasts the shortest lay length of any all-bronze small backflow preventer on the market today for easier drop-in installation for contractors.

“Reduced size and the lowest cost-of-ownership are a couple of the many benefits offered by the new 900XL3 series small backflow preventer,” says John Mankins, Director of Product Management, Water Safety and Control for Zurn Elkay.

The new design of the 900XL3 provides faster installation and easier maintenance. Fast-test test cocks are positioned along the centerline for seamless accessibility and minimized space restrictions. The 900XL3 series also features modular cartridge internals and a single, top-access check cover for quicker and easier access when performing maintenance and repairs.

“Backflow installers and testers will enjoy the ease and durability of the 900XL3 series. With one of the lowest total installation costs on first-fit and a long lifecycle value, we are confident they will prefer this for new installations or retrofit applications,” continued Mankins. “Our EZSwap® check technology with top access, found in the 900XL3 series, can help contractors save up to 75 percent of labor time in repairs.”

The 900XL3 series is designed for residential or commercial applications. Available as a double check assembly (950XL3) in sizes from ¾ to 2 inches or a reduced pressure principle (975XL3) in sizes from ½ to 2 inches, it is a great choice for any retrofit or new construction needs. Its all-bronze construction proves durable and long-lasting, even in harsh-environment tests.

The 900XL3 series meets lead-free environmental requirements and is fully compliant with ASSE® 1013 (½ to 2 inches) / 1015 (¾ to 2 inches) and AWWA® C510. Moreover, the 900XL3 series is cUPC® listed, meets the requirements of NSF/ANSI/CAN 61 and 372, and is approved by the Foundation for Cross-Connection Control and Hydraulic Research at the University of Southern California.
