Watts Offers a New Premium Course on Mitigating Legionella Risk

Watts has announced a new premium online training program: “Mitigating Legionella Risk: Water Safety for Commercial Facilities.” It consists of eight learning modules, and by completing all eight modules, engineers can receive 0.25 CEUs through ASPE.

Since 2010, the number of Legionnaires’ disease outbreaks and infections has grown by more than 400 percent. With this new premium online training program, engineers will learn how to  optimize water safety at a facility. The program includes detailed video modules that cover:

  • The history of Legionnaires’ disease
  • Water management plans (CMS mandate and ASHRAE 188)
  • Multi-barrier solutions
  • Plumbing design elements for commercial facilities
  • How public health risks like COVID-19 impact water safety

The instructors include Dr. Janet Stout, President of Special Pathogens Laboratory; Aaron Bock, PE, Senior Plumbing Engineer at ERDMAN; and Christoph Lohr, PE, CPD, LEED AP, Vice President of Strategic Initiatives for IAPMO.
