Two ASPE Members Named to CSE’s 2020 40 Under 40 List

Consulting-Specifying Engineer recently announced the recipients of the 2020 40 Under 40 award, and we are pleased to share that ASPE members Karen Schulte, PE, CPD, LEED AP BD+C, and Jason Witterman, PE, LEED AP BD+C, were included.

Karen Schulte is a Mechanical Project Engineer with Mueller Associates in Linthicum, Maryland. She has been an ASPE member since 2017 and is the Women of ASPE (WOA) Liaison for the Baltimore Chapter. According to her profile, she joined Mueller Associates as a college intern and is now is primarily responsible for the design and specification preparation of plumbing and fire protection systems.

Jason Witterman is the Associate Director of Mechanical for NV5 in Las Vegas. He joined ASPE in 2011 and has served in numerous positions on the Southern Nevada Chapter Board of Directors, including Vice President, Membership, Vice President, Technical, and President. He is responsible for the design of HVAC and plumbing systems at NV5 from conceptual design through construction and has been the engineer of record or lead designer for most of the firm’s notable data center projects since 2012, according to his profile.

This award is given annually to 40 nonresidential building industry professionals ages 40 and younger who stand out through an assortment of personal and professional aspects of their lives. Candidates were nominated by a professional colleague or mentor and judged by industry experts based on nine areas, including their commitment to superiority in their academic, professional, personal and community involvement. For more information, visit csemag.com/40under40.
