Rheem Receives Innovation Award from Green Builder Media

ASPE Affiliate Sponsor Rheem was recognized with a Green Innovation of the Year award by Green Builder magazine for its Ultra Low NOx gas furnace. The honor is part of Green Builder’s 2020 Sustainability Awards.

The Ultra Low NOx was the first residential gas-fired furnace certified by the South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) for Rule 1111 for decreasing NOx emissions by 65 percent from the current standard. It features Rheem’s direct-spark PlusOne Ignition System and PlusOne Diagnostics, plus a removable heat exchanger, constant-torque electrically commutated motor, three-phase induced draft blower motor, and pre-mix burner.

The furnace’s heat exchanger is removable for improved serviceability, and the stainless steel construction provides maximum corrosion resistance and thermal fatigue reliability. Its low-profile 34-inch cabinet is ideal for space-constrained installations, and its integrated control board features dip switches for easy system set up.
