Registration Is Open for AWWA’s Free Virtual Event for Water and Wastewater System Operations

The American Water Works Association (AWWA) is offering a free two-day virtual event that will bring its award-winning operations publication Opflow to life to provide practical ideas for water and wastewater systems operations.

Registration is now open for OpShow on November 3–4, which will cover topics ranging from utility case studies to technology solutions. Attendees will have an opportunity to engage, share best practices, and discover practical solutions for continuous improvement.

The event is free to members and $25 for nonmembers, and participants must register. For participants who register before September 10, AWWA’s eLearning course, Basic Math 1 and Chemistry 1, will be free of charge to access.

The two-day virtual event features the following four tracks:

  • Track 1: Water Quality and Treatment: This two-day track will explore best practices for protecting and monitoring source water as well as optimizing all aspects of water treatment.
  • Track 2: Distribution and Collection Systems: This two-day track will examine how operators can improve many system components as well as prevent issues that can negatively affect water quality and system reliability.
  • Track 3: Small Systems: Small systems represent many utilities with highly varied characteristics and limited resources. This track will help small system operators and managers meet the challenges they face and find the support they need.
  • Track 4: Utility Resilience: More than ever, pressure is on water and wastewater professionals to secure their systems from a wide variety of threats, ranging from devastating cyberattacks to wildfires and other extreme weather events. This two-day track will give operators invaluable guidance to help them keep their systems running.
