PPI Cancels Its Annual Meeting

The Plastics Pipe Institute, Inc. (PPI) has announced that its annual membership meeting scheduled for May in Hawaii has been cancelled due to the coronavirus outbreak. Sessions that would have taken place during that meeting are now planned to be conducted virtually with a full schedule to be published in April. PPI is the major North American trade association representing all segments of the plastic pipe industry.

“PPI’s Board of Directors held a virtual meeting on March 30, 2020 to review the best course of action given the impact of COVID-19 on our industry,” stated David M. Fink, PPI president. “It was decided to cancel the annual meeting scheduled for May 3–6, 2020 in Maui. This is very unfortunate because during the two meetings we hold every year, there is a great deal of work that gets accomplished. In order to stay productive and maintain operations as close to normal as possible, PPI is planning for virtual events to be held during the week of May 4th, which will replace the in-person meetings.”

As for future events, Fink said each will be evaluated to determine the viability of holding them, but that as of now the association still plans to hold its in-person semi-annual meeting in October.
