Nominations Are Open for the 2021 Class of LEED Fellows

The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) has opened nominations for the 2021 Class of LEED Fellows, and the deadline for the first phase of nominations is January 27. You can learn more and access the nomination forms at usgbc.org.

LEED credential holders help drive the movement for sustainable buildings and healthy lives around the globe. LEED Fellow is the highest recognition achievable for a LEED professional in the green building industry. Receiving the LEED Fellow designation recognizes outstanding accomplishments and marks a career high point.

Each year, GBCI receives applications from a diverse and global applicant pool. Nominees’ applications are evaluated by a committee of LEED Fellows through a multi-round evaluation process.

To be eligible, a nominee must hold a LEED AP with specialty credential for a minimum of eight years and demonstrate at least 10 years of exceptional impact with LEED in the key mastery elements of:

  • Technical proficiency
  • Education and mentoring
  • Leadership
  • Commitment and service
  • Advocacy

The full list of eligibility requirements to apply to be a LEED Fellow are listed in the LEED Fellow Handbook.
