More than 80 Hours of Innovative Learning Begins at ACE21 All Virtual

The American Water Works Association (AWWA) kicked off ACE21 All Virtual with its opening general session featuring Jennifer Sara, global director of the World Bank Group’s Water Global Practice, and AWWA President Melissa Elliott discussing the value of safe water and sanitation services and the role the water sector has in ensuring their accessibility. ACE21 All Virtual is June 14–17.

“Water utilities’ ability to keep the water flowing is among the most important contributions in a pandemic response, so the access to safe water and sanitation services was understood widely right at the start as an integral part of the prevention strategies for slowing the spread of COVID-19,” Sara said.

ACE21 All Virtual features more than 80 hours of learning through six professional tracks, delivered by knowledgeable and engaging presenters in the water sector on infrastructure, utility management, water quality, sustainability, resiliency, and innovation. ACE21 All Virtual sessions will be available to review on-demand for 30 days after the conference.

Among the highlights of Tuesday is a 9:30 a.m. MDT Fireside Chat with Radhika Fox, U.S. EPA’s Principal Deputy Assistant Administrator for the Office of Water. Wednesday’s events include the Women Influencers in Water Workshop at 10 a.m. MDT with Elliott and other influential women in the sector, and the “Best of the Best” Water Taste Test at noon MDT, during which utilities that have won competitions at AWWA sections compete to determine who has the best-tasting water.
