Learn the Ins and Outs of Valve Options on August 13

We have announced another new webinar in August, “Valves 101: The Ins and Outs of Valve Options in Commercial Plumbing” on August 13 at 1 pm CDT.

This one-hour webinar will present the basics on valve styles, sizes, materials, and applications. Speaker Lauren Berenato will discuss the standards and designs that have changed in our industry while informing participants as to advancements that have been made from manufacturers. The goal of the presentation is to enlighten attendees about what valve to use in certain applications as well as discuss the ways we design today that differ from what is listed in design handbooks. This webinar is a great resource for newer engineers and designers entering the industry as well as a refresher class for more experienced designers.

Upon successful completion of the course you will be able to:

  • Understand the five main factors to consider for valve selection.
  • Understand the differing materials, connections, and applications of valves.
  • Understand the four key components of valves.
  • Understand when to use select valve styles based upon application.
  • Understand the difference between globe valves and gate valves.

Upon successful completion of the webinar, you will be awarded 0.1 CEU. This webinar is free for ASPE members and $130 for nonmembers, and registration is open at ASPE Education.

About the Speaker

Lauren Berenato has been with Jomar Group since February of 2019. She is the National Specifications Manager for the Commercial Plumbing Division of the company.  She connects their manufacturer representative agencies in the United States with Jomar to help advance the plumbing and hydronics industries to the most efficient methods of developing their systems. Prior to working with Jomar, Lauren served as the National Business Development Manager with a valve manufacturer. She has been involved in the plumbing and hydronics industries since 2016.

Lauren is a member of ASPE, ASA, and AIM/R; within ASA she is involved in the emerging leaders division, plumbing division, as well as women in industry division. Lauren serves on the ASPE Region 1 Board as the Affiliate Liaison.
