The International Code Council is taking applications for volunteers to serve on the following committees for the January 1, 2021 – December 31, 2023 term:
- 2021/2022 Code Committees
- 2021/2022/2023 Code Interpretation Committees
- 2021/2022/2023 Code Correlation Committee
There are currently 17 Code Committees, responsible for the review and evaluation of code change proposals submitted to the 2021 International Codes. At this time, ICC is receiving applications for Group A and Group B Code Committees, and the deadline to apply is June 1, 2020. The Group A Code Committees are IBC Egress, IBC Fire Safety, IBC-G: IBC General, IFC and IUWIC, IFGC, IMC, IPC and IPSDC, IPMC and IZC, IRC Mechanical and IRC Plumbing, and ISPSC. The Group B Code Committees are ADMIN (Chapter 1 of all the I-Codes except the IECC, IgCC, and IRC), IECC Commercial energy, IBC Structural and and IEBC Structural, IEBC Non-structural, Chapter 1 of the IgCC, IRC Building, and IECC Residential Energy and IRC Energy.
The purpose of this call is to solicit applications for code committee members to preside over the Committee Action Hearings noted below. The Committee Action Hearing schedule for the respective groups is as follows:
- Group A Code Committees considering 2021 code change proposals at the 2021 Committee Action Hearing on April 11–21, 2021 in Rochester, New York
- Group B Code Committees considering 2022 code change proposals at the 2022 Committee Action Hearing on March 27 – April 6, 2022 in Rochester, New York
Travel is required. Members of ICC Code Committees are authorized to travel at ICC’s expense when participating at the Committee Action Hearings.
Applications will be reviewed by the Codes and Standards Council, which is responsible for making recommendations to the ICC Board of Directors, who makes the final appointment decisions. All current 2018/2019 code committee members must re-apply to be considered for re-appointment.
