ICC Evaluation Service President Shahin Moinian, PE, was appointed for a three-year term to the Cal Poly Pomona Civil Engineering Industry Advisory Council, which is comprised of industry managers and practicing engineers from industry and public agencies to provide guidance to Cal Poly Pomona University.
Shahin was named President of ICC-ES several years ago to build a startup product certification organization in the area of plumbing and mechanical products. The plumbing, mechanical, and gas (PMG) certification program is now accredited in the United States and Canada (and in Mexico for plumbing), and ICC-ES also offers testing services to its clients. In addition to the building product listing program, ICC-ES provides an Environmental Product Declaration verification, EPA Water Sense, and EnergyStar programs.
Shahin joined ICC-ES in 2010 as Executive Director of Certification Programs. Prior to that, he was the Senior Director of IAPMO R&T and the Director of Codes and Standards for Moen. He received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from California State University-Los Angeles and an M.E. in Mechanical Engineering from California State Polytechnic University-Pomona. Shahin is a registered Professional Engineer in California, Florida, and Ohio.
