This week in our Get to Know initiative, we are pleased to introduce Jordan Bergeron, PE, a member of the New Orleans Chapter.
ASPE: What book do you recommend everyone should read? Why?
Jordan: Jesus the Bridegroom: The Greatest Love Story Ever Told by Dr. Brant Pitre. It is a wonderful look into the Life of Christ as the Divine Bridegroom and His love for us. This book is also valuable because it can give married men excellent insight on how to be good and serving husbands and fathers.
ASPE: What is your favorite animal? Why?
Jordan: The wolf. I have no idea why! Maybe it’s because it was the mascot of my high school, but I just think the wolf is a beautiful animal. I also like how wolves individually order themselves toward the common goal of the pack.
ASPE: What are your hobbies outside of work?
Jordan: I love to read when I have the time, and I also try my best to play guitar, but I’m self-taught, roughly might I add, so it’s not like I’m concert material or anything.
ASPE: What do you do to relax?
Jordan: With four kids at home, relaxing is not frequently something I would say that my wife and I get to do! But I would definitely say that I like playing outside with my kids and just enjoying a good conversation with my wife.
ASPE: Do you have a favorite vacation spot? Where is it and why do you keep going back?
Jordan: Yes! Disney World. My wife is the person who took me to Disney World for the first time. Since then, we have enjoyed going back there with our kids. I know a lot of people probably say this, but it’s kind of like it’s our spot.
ASPE: What is your favorite meal? Is it prepared at home or found at a restaurant?
Jordan: My favorite meal is the Eucharist; the Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Our Blessed Savior, Jesus Christ. It is found in His Church.
ASPE: What did you want to be when you were a child?
Jordan: I always enjoyed being in plays at school and saw myself as being an actor. I had a feeling I would get married later in life, though, and I didn’t want to have a role where I would have to kiss a woman who wasn’t my wife, so I just became an engineer. Haha.
ASPE: What is your favorite game or sport to watch and play?
Jordan: I really enjoy watching international soccer, like the World Cup or the Euro competitions. I also like to play basketball because I can do that in my driveway.
