Get to Know Gerard Audet, EIT, LEED AP BD+C

In this edition of Get to Know, we are pleased to introduce Gerard (Gerry) Audet, EIT, LEED AP BD+C, a member of ASPE’s Boston Chapter.

ASPE: If you could travel anywhere, where would it be?
Gerry: New Zealand. It is a nature-first country. I love the outdoors, especially winter, and I cannot wait to ski the “Southern Alps.”

ASPE: What is your favorite animal?
Gerry: I am a cat person. Each cat has their own personality, which can be molded by their owner. I lucked out and have had very social cats who had fun personalities.

ASPE: Do you have a nickname?
Gerry: G-Dawg. In college, I had a group of friends who raced cars in SCCA. We gave each other nicknames like T-Dawg, S-Dawg, and G-Dawg. We all went out and got vanity license plates for our race cars with our nicknames.

ASPE: Do you have a favorite vacation spot?
Gerry: Steamboat Springs, Colorado. It has great snow sports, a quaint downtown, a small-town vibe, and great hot springs to relax in after the snow sports.

ASPE: If you could live anywhere, where would it be?
Gerry: I plan to retire in Puerto Rico, not only because my wife was born there, but also because of the nice people I have met there, the slower pace of life makes you slow down and enjoy what you have, and because there is an international airport where we can fly to any point in the world within a day.

ASPE: What is your favorite holiday and why?
Gerry: Christmas/New Year. This time of the year I am surrounded by my family and loved ones. We reflect on the past and talk about what the future may hold for us.

ASPE: Who is your hero?
Gerry: My Dad, Robert Audet. He showed me what hard work looked like and the benefits you receive from it. He led by example, not by what he said. He always heard out both sides of the story and tolled out judgement accordingly. I live by his teachings: Always strive to find the best in people and treat people the way I want to be treated.

ASPE: What song would you say best sums you up?
Gerry: “One More Time” by Daft Punk. Celebrate life; you only get one chance at it.
