Eastern Michigan WOA to Host DEI 101 Webinar on March 10

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion 101On Friday, March 10, from noon to 2 p.m. EST, the Eastern Michigan Chapter WOA (Women of ASPE) will host “Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion 101” presented by human rights attorney Tracey Cooley.

The goal of the webinar is to start the conversation of what DEI is and how it is important to understand these concepts when interacting with people. It is also important to understand these concepts if making decisions that will affect other people or working on tasks or projects centered around people. Hopefully, you will leave this webinar with a better understanding of how to look through another’s eyes if for just an instant.

About the Instructor

Tracey Cooley humbly took the role of Executive Director at Sparrow Freedom Project in April 2021. Using her legal training as a human rights attorney and passion for serving, Tracey is dedicated to helping combat exploitation and human trafficking for all individuals locally, nationally, and globally. Tracey has more than 27 years of experience advocating for those in need through employment, leadership positions, board positions, and volunteering with such organizations as Sparrow Freedom Project, Kevelighan & Kevelighan PC, Hope Against Trafficking, Leadership Oakland, Desert Angels, Junior League of Birmingham, Bloomfield Hills Schools, and Rochester Community Schools. She is considered a Master Global Champion in Diversity and Inclusion and is a graduate of the Institute of Healing Racism.

Tracey earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Detroit Mercy, School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts, Magna Cum Laude with Honors in Public Affairs and French from Columbia College in South Carolina.
