DOE Issues RFI About Energy Conservation Standards for Commercial Prerinse Spray Valves

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has issued a Federal Register notice to determine whether any new or amended standards would satisfy the relevant requirements of the Energy Policy and Conservation Act (EPCA) for a new or amended energy conservation standard for commercial prerinse spray valves. Specifically, through this request for information, the DOE seeks data and information that could enable the agency to determine whether it should propose a “no new standard” determination because a more stringent standard:

  • Would not result in a significant savings of energy;
  • Is not technologically feasible;
  • Is not economically justified; or
  • Any combination of foregoing.

The DOE will accept comments, data, and information regarding this RFI until July 10, 2020. Interested persons may submit comments via the Federal eRulemaking portal.
