Copper Development Association Hires New Director of Tube and Fittings

The Copper Development Association Inc. (CDA) has chosen Marcus Elmer to lead its Tube and Fittings Council. In this role he will be responsible for identifying and influencing market trends, opportunities, and threats for copper tube and fittings products through the development and execution of strategic programs involving technical research, codes and standards, advocacy, and education.

Marcus brings more than 10 years of experience in the plumbing and mechanical industry to CDA. He is a subject matter expert of metallic and polymer piping solutions and brings a rounded understanding of the competitive landscape to grow and defend copper solutions. Additionally, he holds three patents related to copper fittings. Prior to CDA, he held positions at Uponor, JF Ahern Co., Memphis Mechanical Services, and Mueller Industries Inc.

“Marcus’ background is exactly what we need for this position,” said Andrew G. Kireta Jr., President of CDA. “His expertise in both metallic and polymer piping will help us to strategically develop programs highlighting copper’s beneficial properties.”

Marcus holds a Master of Business Administration from Union University and a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from the University of Wisconsin-Stout. He joined CDA as a Director of the Tube and Fittings program as of April 4.
