CIPH President and General Manager Ralph Suppa Announces His Retirement

Ralph SuppaAs with many good things in life, they eventually come to an end. CIPH has had a very good thing in Ralph Suppa and has flourished with his leadership, but after 35 good years, Ralph has decided to flourish in a new career and will retire December 31, 2023 from his position as the Institute’s President and GM.

“Serving CIPH since 1988 has been an honor and a joy,” Ralph said. “During the next year and a half, I will continue to work alongside our exceptional staff and Board of Directors to deliver on the association’s mission, and when the search committee completes its work, I’ll do everything I can to ensure a seamless transition and position my successor to lead CIPH to what I’m sure will be even greater success.”

Ralph has played a key role in the development of the Canadian Institute of Plumbing & Heating’s programs and services since joining the association in 1988 as a Program Manager. He was appointed President and General Manager in 2002.

Stated Andrew Dyck, Past Chair, “It has been my pleasure to work with Ralph since the early ’90s as a volunteer with CIPH. Ralph was involved with the CHC, back then, and his passion for our industry was the same then as it is now. Ralph has always made every member he works with feel appreciated, and Ralph never took for granted the work the hundreds of volunteers do for CIPH every year. In fact, he is a big reason for the many great volunteers we have had serve CIPH.”

Chair of the Board Matt Robinson praised Ralph for his continued push to evolve CIPH into a future-proofed trade association with North American recognition and continued member loyalty and engagement.

“It will be hard to replace Ralph’s dedication to our industry and to the people who make up CIPH,” Robinson said. “Ralph’s integrity, passion, and member-focused leadership have provided great value to our entire association. He has done a fantastic job of focusing on the current member needs while having the foresight to look around the corner and make members aware of developments that will affect their businesses.”

CIPH will retain an executive search firm to coordinate the search for the association’s President, which will begin shortly with the intent to have a candidate in place by June 2023.
