The Plastic Pipe and Fittings Association (PPFA) is pleased to announce the winners of its Processor Safety Recognition Awards based on 2019 data, and ASPE Affiliate Sponsor Charlotte Pipe and Foundry Co. was one of the two recipients. Charlotte Pipe has been a trusted manufacturer of plumbing systems since 1901. The company is headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, with seven plant locations across the United States, and is distributed around the world.
The award is based on OSHA lost work data. It was established to elevate the importance of safety in all aspects of the industry and to highlight PPFA member efforts to achieve safety excellence. The award process includes three awards based on the total man-hours for which a processor reports.
Participation underscores for member companies the importance of safety to their own human resource goals. It also provides a body of data that, when coupled with PPFA’s Annual Safety Summit, can be used as a platform to help identify best safety practices in plastic pipe and fittings manufacturing. This exchange of ideas leads to exemplary safety experiences and provides benefits to the entire industry.
