CDA Spring Meeting Postponed to 2021

The Copper Development Association (CDA) has decided to postpone its annual spring meeting this year. Following is a message from CDA President Thomas S. Passek.

Dear CDA colleagues and friends,

Over these past several weeks, the world as we know it has changed, and we have all been impacted—our personal lives as well as our businesses. As we shared with you last month, we have been monitoring the situation in New York City, and as such have made the decision that the CDA 2020 Spring Meeting, originally scheduled to take place on June 2-4 in New York City, will be postponed to 2021.

This decision was obviously made considering the COVID-19 pandemic (and the extenuating circumstances affecting New York City), CDC recommendations related to public gatherings, and travel restrictions that would prevent many from attending. While we regret postponing the Spring Meeting, CDA recognizes and supports efforts by government and private organizations to impose restrictions on travel and activities that bring people into contact with one another.

Although we may not be able to meet in person, please do keep your calendar open during that first week of June. We will likely plan to hold virtual meetings during that time, scheduling Product Council Meetings as well the Operating Committee and Board Meetings over several days. Details on the timing and structure for these meetings will follow.

In the interim, we will continue to work on your behalf ensuring that the critical role our industry plays in keeping the country operational is understood and supported. From keeping the power flowing to providing critical components for ventilators and providing medical gas tube in support of emergency hospital facilities, the copper industry is contributing to the country’s COVID-19 response and is needed more now than ever.

We will continue to keep you updated, sending our regular reports on activities as well as any alerts as they arise. CDA would like to thank the entire copper industry for its continued support over the years, and we look forward to seeing you at the CDA Winter Meeting later this year.

Thank you,

Thomas S. Passek
President
