Caleffi Expands PRV Product Range with PresCal True Piston Valve Series

Caleffi 536 Series PresCal™ HPThe Caleffi 536 Series PresCal™ HP is the only direct-acting pressure regulating valve in North America with true piston operation and is now available for ordering. With industry-exclusive technology, the 536 Series HP has a piston as the primary control mechanism, instead of a diaphragm. The valve family ensures stable, high-precision water pressure control while withstanding severe inlet pressure or punishing downstream water hammer. It’s perfect for staged pressure control or demanding applications that are fraught with extreme pressure fluctuations.

Two models within the 536 Series HP family are available with different pressure adjustment ranges. The high-range models are rated for inlet pressures up to 360 psi, with an outlet range of 90 to 150 psi. The high-range models provide first-stage pressure reduction for high-pressure applications, typically seen in high-rise construction with pressure-boosting systems. The high range is available in ½- to 2-inch sizes.

The low-range models are also rated for inlet pressures up to 360 psi, but with an outlet range of 10 to 90 psi. The low-range model provides second-stage pressure reduction or serves as a standalone PRV when punishing pressure spikes are common, typically experienced in commercial dishwashing equipment, irrigation zone valves, or similar quick-acting valve applications. The low range is available in ½- to 1½-inch sizes.

The entire 536 Series HP family is available with sweat, NPT, or press connection tailpieces. The valves offer quiet operation and are an all metal construction that can be mounted outdoors in non-freezing conditions.  A removable cartridge makes for simple servicing and troubleshooting. The valve is ICC-ES certified to CSA B356, NSF/ANSI/CAN 61 (180°F/82°C Commercial Hot), NSF/ANSI/CAN 372, and low-lead laws. It meets the IPC, IRC, UPC, and NPC for use in accordance with U.S. and Canadian plumbing codes.
