Burns & McDonnell Launches Integrated Construction Group in the Twin Cities

Burns & McDonnell recently announced the launch of an integrated construction group at its Minneapolis-St. Paul office. The team of construction professionals joins the more than 130 engineers and architects at the office who deliver turnkey project solutions that include pre-construction planning and estimating, project schedule and cost controls, risk management, safety, and construction.

“This addition will deliver significant benefits for our clients throughout the Twin Cities and Upper Midwest,” says Gene Sieve, Burns & McDonnell Vice President in Minneapolis-St. Paul. “With safety and efficiency at the forefront of everything we do, our employee-owners provide considerable value for our clients during every phase of their projects.”

The local construction team has been working with multiple clients on various projects as part of other Burns & McDonnell groups over the last few years. The newly formed group of experienced project managers and project control managers is actively working with clients on an engineer-procure-construct (EPC) project for nine solar energy generation plants in Wisconsin. The team is managing construction services for the substation and interconnecting power lines (gen-tie) portion of the project.

“With the addition of this construction group, our Minneapolis-St. Paul office can now provide program management, design-build, and EPC offerings to their clients,” says Brett Williams, President of Construction at Burns & McDonnell. “A fully integrated team creates a more seamless, predictable, and cost-effective experience.”

The EPC project delivery method supports early project collaboration between project team partners and owners, which creates more opportunities for savings and efficiencies to be engineered into designs before any construction begins.

“Our construction employee-owners are already working on substantial projects in Minnesota, North Dakota, and Wisconsin,” says Joe Bauer, Construction Section Manager for Burns & McDonnell in Minneapolis-St. Paul. “Because of our continued growth, we are actively recruiting to expand our team in meaningful ways for the considerable future.”

There are nearly 60 job requisitions posted for the Minneapolis-St. Paul office.
