BI2020: Virtual Edition Receives Tremendous Support from Building Industry Sponsors

The National Institute of Building Sciences is gearing up for its first-ever Building Innovation 2020: Virtual Edition.

The event has received generous support, partnering with a number of agencies and companies, including the International Code Council, Dell Technologies, American Institute of Architects, International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials, National Ready Mixed Concrete Association, Willseal by Tremco, ePIPE Plumbing and Pipe Restoration, SMT Research, and Autodesk.

“Building Innovation will reach its largest built environment audience ever, thanks to the incredible support of these industry icons,” says Lakisha A. Woods, CAE, President and CEO of NIBS. “We are grateful and proud to present this event to the greater building community.”

BI2020 takes place August 18-19. It is open to anyone within the building industry. Educational sessions will cover a spectrum of developments in the areas of workforce, technology, resilience, and the challenges that COVID-19 brings to the built environment.

International Code Council CEO Dominic Sims, CBO, said the organization has been a long-standing and proud partner of the Building Innovation conference. ICC is the 2020 presenting sponsor.

“Now more than ever, with the events and challenges that have emerged in the world today, the Building Innovation Conference: Virtual Edition is the event for industry professionals to collaborate and tackle important issues in resilience, technology, and the workforce in the midst of COVID-19’s effect on the built environment,” said Sims.

BI2020 brings together architects, engineers, code officials, manufacturers, innovators, public and private sector representatives, officials from building and construction, and local, state, and government leaders. It features a “pay what you can” registration fee, ranging from free to a maximum of $395. All registration fees will be used to support the cost of the technology, and the NIBS 501(c)3 non-profit mission to serve the public interest by advancing building science and technology to improve the built environment.
