ASPE Members Receive ASHRAE Awards

ASHRAE recently recognized individuals for outstanding achievements and contributions to the heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, and refrigeration industry, and we are pleased to share that several ASPE members were included. The awards are scheduled to be presented at the 2021 ASHRAE Winter Conference in Chicago.

Ryan Pinckard, a member of ASPE’s Portland Chapter, received the Lincoln Bouillon Award, which recognizes an ASHRAE member who performs the most outstanding work in increasing membership. The award commemorates ASHRAE Presidential Member Bouillon’s efforts in recruiting new members. Ryan is a Business Development Engineer for CHC Hydro in Vancouver.

Bruce Flaniken, PE, a member of ASPE’s Houston Chapter, received the Lou Flagg Historical Award, which recognizes an individual for preparing the most outstanding historical presentation related to HVAC&R. The award is named in recognition of ASHRAE Presidential Member Lou Flagg, who promoted an interest in history. Bruce is the Manager of Facility System Design & Construction Engineering for Houston Methodist Hospital.

George W. (Billy) Austin Jr., PE, CPD, a member of ASPE’s Charlotte Chapter, received an Exceptional Service Award, which recognizes past ASHRAE Distinguished Service Award recipients who have continued to serve faithfully and with exemplary effort. Billy is a Principal with Shultz Engineering Group, PC, in Charlotte.
