Mueller Associates has announced the promotion of Charles Swope, PE, CPD, LEED AP, to Chief Mechanical Engineer. Chuck will direct the firm’s plumbing and fire protection services in his new role and provide quality assurance/quality control for HVAC design projects.
Chuck joined Mueller Associates, one of the mid-Atlantic region’s leading mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering firms, in 2009. He has 18 years of mechanical engineering experience. He has provided plumbing, piping, and fire protection systems design for various projects, including museums, libraries, higher education facilities, and civic and corporate buildings.
Significant projects in Chuck’s portfolio include the modernization of the Smithsonian Institution’s National Air and Space Museum in Washington, D.C., and the award-winning renovation and restoration of the historic Enoch Pratt Free Library in Baltimore. He also designed systems for the new Capital One Hall in Tysons, Virginia; Virginia Commonwealth University’s College of Health Professions in Richmond, Virginia; Bowie State University’s LEED Platinum Center for Natural Sciences, Mathematics, and Nursing in Bowie, Maryland; and Duke University’s School of Nursing in Durham, North Carolina.
Chuckholds a Bachelor of Science in Electro-Mechanical Engineering (2003) from Pennsylvania State University. He is currently Vice President Technical of ASPE’s Baltimore Chapter.
