ASPE Executive Director/CEO and Members to Share Their Knowledge at the 2022 EWTS

On May 10–11, ASPE will be co-convening the 7th biennial Emerging Water Technology Symposium (EWTS) in San Antonio with the Alliance for Water Efficiency (AWE), International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO), and Plumbing Manufacturers International (PMI), in cooperation with the World Plumbing Council (WPC). The EWTS is a can’t-miss event for those who work or are interested in the fields of safe plumbing, water distribution, and water efficiency, and it offers a unique opportunity to meet well-known experts from across the globe.

Registration and the full conference schedule are now available, and ASPE is pleased to announce that our Executive Director/CEO and several members from across the U.S. will be participating as speakers.

Schedule Highlights

May 10

To kick off the 2022 EWTS, ASPE’s Executive Director/CEO, Billy Smith, FASPE, will join Chicago Chapter member Dave Viola along with AWE’s Ron Burke and PMI’s Kerry Stackpole to share opening remarks and introduce industry partners, special guests, benefactors, patrons, and supporting sponsors.

Also on the first day:

  • New Jersey Chapter member C.J. Lagan will join a podium presentation on “An Overview of the Performance Requirements and Likely Regulatory Framework for ‘Reinvented Toilets.'”
  • Chicago Chapter member Julius Ballanco, PE, CPD, FASPE, Seattle Chapter member Matt Freije, and Phoenix Chapter member Christoph Lohr, PE, CPD, LEED AP BD+C, will participate in a panel discussion on “Effective Risk Management of Building Water Systems for Pathogen Control.”

May 11

On the second day of the EWTS:

  • Northern California Chapter member Gary Klein will present “How You Can Apply the Benefits of the WDC to Your Upcoming Projects.”
  • Dallas/Ft. Worth Chapter member Greg Swafford, CPD, GPD, will present “Emerging Technology for Improving Potable Water Safety in Premise Plumbing.”
  • Central Indiana Chapter member Andrew Whelton, Ph.D., will present “Predicting Faucet Water Quality, Plumbing Contamination Response and Recovery.”
  • Chicago Chapter member Conrad L. Jahrling will present “Introduction to Packaged Plumbing and Mechanical Systems.”
  • Matt Freije will present “Sensor Data Analytics for Smarter Premise Plumbing Management.”

The EWTS is expected to sell out and the early bird rate ends on March 15, so register soon if you plan on attending.
