I hope that everyone had a very Happy Easter and enjoyed the holiday with family and friends. So far, Mother Nature has not provided us with the warmth and blossoming flowers that we expect with the arrival of spring, but it has to be getting closer as we head toward May.
ASPE Chapters are preparing for elections of Officers and making arrangements to attend the Region Meetings as they close out another fiscal year. It is a busy time of the year for all Chapters, with the annual reports, treasurer reports, and Convention delegate registration in the forefront. I recommend that Chapter Officers make an effort to get their reports started and completed in advance so they can focus on arrangements for this year’s Convention. Updated Chapter Officer rosters need to be submitted to the Society by the end of May.
Region 2 Chapters continue to report financial stability, an increase in member participation at meetings, and positive gains in new members and member retention. Excitement and expectation are growing among the Chapters to attend, volunteer at, and participate in the upcoming 2022 ASPE Convention & Expo this September. Region 2 Chapters anticipate sending the full regiment of delegates and representatives to the event in Indianapolis. The Central Indiana Chapter will be the Host Chapter, and the Eastern Michigan Chapter will be operating an Indy race car challenge event.
The 2022 Region 2 Meeting is scheduled for June 3-4 in Pittsburgh. The Pittsburgh and Johnstown Chapters will collaborate to host this regional event with reservations at a North Shore hotel and tickets to attend a Pittsburgh Pirates baseball game at beautiful PNC Park. The area provides walking access to an abundance of bars, taverns, restaurants, stadiums, entertainment venues, and the casino—plenty of options and fun for all.
It’s been more than two years since we got together for a Region 2 Meeting, so I am looking forward to seeing everyone and having a successful meeting event.
