American-Marsh Pumps Releases 490 Series SXT & SXU Self-Priming Pumps

American-Marsh Pumps (AMP), a Wilo Brand, is pleased to announce the release of the SXT and SXU self-priming trash pumps. The SXT offers superior solids-handling capabilities, which makes it ideally suited for a variety of applications including solids-laden liquids and slurries. The SXU has a multi-vane open impeller design for higher heads and efficiencies, but can still handle limited solids. The large volute design of the SXT and SXU allows for automatic repriming in an open system. There is no need for suction or discharge check valves.

The SXT is available in 3, 4, 6, 8, and 10 inches. The SXU is available in 3, 4, and 6 inches.

American-Marsh Pumps also has received NSF/ANSI/CAN 61 and 372 certification for the 480 series vertical turbine potable water pumps manufactured at their Collierville, Tennessee location.

Currently, 48 U.S. States and 11 Canadian provinces have legislation, regulations, or policies requiring that municipal potable water system components comply with, or be certified to, NSF/ANSI/CAN 61. As part of the certification process, a complete formulation disclosure is required from product manufacturers and their material/ingredient suppliers. The NSF/ANSI 372 standard establishes requirements for use when a 0.25 percent lead content requirement needs to be met in addition to the current chemical extraction requirements of the NSF/ANSI/CAN 61 standard. NSF/ANSI 372 allows manufacturers the option of being certified to a lead content standard, which conforms to the lead content requirements for “lead-free” plumbing as defined by California, Louisiana, Maryland, and Vermont state laws and the U.S. Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA).

The AMP NSF/ANSI/CAN 61 and 372 certification applies to vertical turbine pumps, bowl sizes 6 through 42 inches, with enclosed 304 or 316 stainless steel impeller, open line shaft design, and lead-free construction to fully comply with the SDWA. AMP has obtained the NSF/ANSI/CAN 61 and 372 certification for the complete vertical turbine pump assembly, which includes the bowl, column pipe and line shaft, fabricated steel discharge head, seal housing, and optional suction can/barrel. This certification allows AMP to offer high-quality pumping solutions for potable water and water well applications across the world.
