2023 Water Quality Association Business Boot Camp Focuses on Marketing, Finance

2023 WQA Convention & ExpositionFinance and marketing highlight the agenda for the Water Quality Association’s fifth annual Business Boot Camp, to be held at Caesars Forum in Las Vegas on April 17, 2023, one day before the start of the WQA Convention & Exposition.

The WQA Business Boot Camp is a full day of business skills development designed primarily for water treatment providers, business managers, and marketing staff. This year’s theme is “Seize the Momentum,” and it will include sessions on comprehensive marketing, setting and tracking marketing benchmarks, key financial data points, and developing high ethical standards customers can trust.

Luncheon speaker is Robert Bilott, an attorney, author, and environmental advocate whose 20-year environmental lawsuit against DuPont exposed what has been called the worst case of corporate coverup and environmental contamination in modern history. Boot Camp attendees will join those attending the concurrent PFAS Symposium for lunch and the speech.

In the afternoon, Boot Camp participants will use their own business data and the help of expert coaching to create either a financial health check of their business or a marketing calendar for their company, which they can put into use immediately upon returning to their businesses.

Boot Camp speakers include:

  • Amanda Crangle, founder of Lamplight Digital Media, which assists water treatment dealerships with digital marketing
  • Dustin Martin, CPA, who serves as Controller of Martin Water Co.
  • Mike McGowan, MWS, a third-generation independent water treatment dealer in Mankato, Minnesota
  • Kim Redden, MWS, MPH, who works in sales for Pentair Water Treatment Products
  • Lisa Stich, Marketing Manager for Watts Water Technologies, who has more than 20 years of marketing experience in the water treatment industry
  • Candice Wentling, MWS, Director of Certified Action, a business advisement and training company working primarily in the water treatment industry

Immediately following Boot Camp, dealers can focus on both the technical and operational sides of their businesses at the WQA Convention & Exposition, April 18–20 also at Caesars Forum. More than 35 learning sessions provide expert guidance on everything from PFAS to cutting-edge research, and the expo offers an up-close look at the latest water quality products and technologies, plus face time with the manufacturers and suppliers. Convention attendees can catch up with old friends, make new connections, and discover trends that are defining the future of the industry.
