2022 WQA Convention & Exposition to Offer Key Technical, Business Operations Education

Three days of education sessions and discussions on key topics such as profitability, the latest water treatment technologies, and new methods of expanding or improving a water treatment business highlight the 2022 WQA Convention & Exposition on April 6–8 in Orlando. A complete convention schedule, including exposition hours and networking opportunities, is posted online.

Live education sessions afford attendees the opportunity to comment, ask questions, and continue their conversations at the Welcome Reception or over lunch or dinner with peers. Convention attendees who hold professional certifications through WQA have the opportunity to earn much of the Continuing Professional Development credit they need for recertification during the event.

Education sessions are led by experts both inside and outside of the water treatment industry, bringing real-world expertise to the classrooms and section meetings. Some highlights include:

  • A “Power Morning” especially for water treatment dealers on Wednesday, April 6, featuring a panel discussion on ethics in the field, a session on “Don’t Let Inflation Hurt Your Profitability,” and the dealer section meeting, an open forum discussion on becoming the trusted source on water issues in your community.
  • Sessions on reclamation, reuse, agriculture, beer brewing, and dialysis treatments teach attendees about new opportunities in water treatment.
  • A series of sessions on Legionella explains testing procedures and the latest treatment protocols.
  • A discussion on the “new normal” related to the supply chain, inflation, and labor issues is offered during the Commercial/Industrial Section meeting at 9 a.m. on Thursday, April 7. The speaker is Greg Reyneke, MWS, Managing Director of Red Fox Advisors.

Full details are available on the online convention schedule, searchable by date, speaker, or CPD offerings.

Dealers interested in a more intensive workshop on all aspects of running a successful water treatment business can come a day early for WQA Business Boot Camp, held from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on April 5, also at the Orange County Convention Center. The theme is “Fuel Your Impact: Operations | Compliance | Strategy.”

Those wanting more technical education (plus an additional 0.4 CPD) can register for WQA’s popular Commercial/Industrial RO Sizing Workshop. Peter Cartwright, MWS, PE, of Cartwright Consulting Co. teaches the highly interactive class from 1 to 5 p.m. on April 5.

More details and registration information for the Convention, RO Sizing Workshop, and Boot Camp can be found at wqa.org/convention. Advance pricing is in effect through February 23.
