2022 Water Efficiency and Sanitation Standard (WE•Stand) Monograph Is Available

WE•StandThe International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO®) has made the 2022 Water Efficiency and Sanitation Standard (WE•Stand) Technical Committee Meeting Monograph available for download.

All individuals anticipating an active role in the ANSI-accredited consensus development of WE•Stand at the Technical Committee meetings on June 22–23 in Ontario, California will want to download these documents from the following URL: iapmo.org/media/29741/2022-westand-rop-monograph.pdf.

Hardcopy versions will not be available at the meetings.

The Technical Committee Meeting Monograph contains every change proposal submitted for the 2023 edition of WE•Stand as part of the ANSI-accredited consensus code development process employed by IAPMO.

Topic areas for proposed changes to WE•Stand include onsite wastewater treatment systems for direct potable water reuse; onsite graywater treatment systems; graywater-ready plumbing; the Water Demand Calculator (WDC); reverse osmosis water treatment systems; water-efficiency rating systems and methodologies; urine diversion system design and treatment methods; sustainable landscape design and installation; plant and irrigation system limitations; plant grouping via hydrozones; irrigation control systems; irrigation zone performance criteria; stormwater management and rainwater retention; water metering applications; leak detection and control; maximum hot water system ratios; commercial pre-rinse spray valves; and steam sterilizers.

IAPMO urges its members and other interested parties to get involved in the code development process to ensure effectiveness in preserving the public’s health, safety, and welfare through fair and balanced development of WE•Stand. Installers, plumbing officials, the construction industry, engineers, and manufacturers all benefit from a cooperative effort in developing codes and standards.
