2020 CPD Exam to Be Delivered Via Remote Proctoring

To protect the health and safety of 2020 Certified in Plumbing Design (CPD) exam candidates, ASPE is now delivering this year’s exam via remote proctoring. Candidates will not be required to go to a test center to take their exam and instead can take the exam from the comfort of their home or another location that has a stable Internet connection. You can find more information on this update here: aspe.org/cpdexamcovid19.

The dates to take the exam have also been extended to June 15 – 28, 2020, and the new deadline to register is June 19, 2020.

On or around June 1, 2020, eligible candidates will receive updated instructions on how to begin registration and submit exam fees. Members will enter a coupon code (delivered via email) during checkout to adjust the fees to member pricing. For candidates testing outside of North America, the fees will be reduced due to remote proctoring.

For those who are interested in taking the CPD Exam but have not previously expressed interest, please visit aspe.org/education-credentialing/cpd/cpdexaminterest to notify ASPE that you wish to take the exam this year. To be eligible to take the CPD Examination, a candidate must possess a minimum of four years of experience in a position of responsibility for the design of plumbing systems and a baccalaureate degree in a field related to engineering. In lieu of an accredited degree, a candidate may substitute up to an additional four years of practical experience in the design of plumbing systems, for a total of eight years, or be granted a credit of one-half year of practical experience for each full year of education in an accredited curriculum related to plumbing engineering.

ASPE Members who are in the Full member category are automatically eligible to sit for the exam.

About the CPD Program
