Chapter Timeline

1966: The first ASPE chapter, Los Angeles, is chartered.

1967: The San Francisco Chapter is chartered (October 18).

1968: The Phoenix Chapter is chartered (July 1).

1968: The Houston Chapter is chartered (July 10).

1968: The Richmond Chapter is chartered (August 28).

1969: The Chicago Chapter is chartered (January 10).

1969: The Atlanta Chapter and Washington, D.C., Chapter are chartered (March 4).

1970: The Montreal Chapter is chartered (August 20).

1970: The San Diego Chapter is chartered (August 24).

1970: The Toronto Chapter is chartered (September 15).

1971: The Upstate New York Chapter is chartered (September 14).
It later changes names to the Buffalo-Niagara Chapter.

1972: The Dallas/Ft. Worth Chapter is chartered (June 27).

1973: The Miami Chapter is chartered (May 10).

1973: The Boston Chapter is chartered (October 26).

1974: The Cleveland Chapter is chartered (June 12).

1974: The Baltimore Chapter and the New Jersey Chapter are chartered (September 10).

1974: The Central Indiana Chapter and the Central New York Chapter are chartered (September 24).

1975: The Portland Chapter is chartered (February 4).

1975: The Kansas City Chapter is chartered (February 20).

1975: The New Orleans Chapter is chartered (March 13).

1975: The Denver Chapter is chartered (May 21).

1975: The New York City Chapter is chartered (October 27).

1975: The British Columbia is chartered (November 14).

1975: The Michigan Chapter is chartered (November 28).

1976: The St. Louis Chapter is chartered (January 12).

1979: The Delaware Valley Chapter is chartered (March 14).

1980: The Central Ohio Chapter is chartered (October 25).

1980: The Minnesota Chapter is chartered (November 24).

1982: The Southwest Ohio Chapter is chartered (February 26).

1982: The Palmetto State Chapter is chartered (August 31).

1982: The Pittsburgh Chapter is chartered (October 15).

1983: The American River Chapter is chartered (May 1).

1983: The Central Florida Chapter is chartered (November 1).

1984: The Nashville Chapter is chartered (September 6).

1985: The Intermountain Chapter is chartered (January 31).

1985: The Silicon Valley Chapter is chartered (November 21).

1986: The Michigan Chapter changes its name to the Eastern Michigan Chapter (February).

1986: The Western Michigan Chapter is chartered (September 18).

1986: The Wisconsin Chapter is chartered (September 19).

1988: The New Mexico Chapter is chartered (January 12).

1988: The Piedmont Chapter is chartered (August 1).

1989: The Hawaii Chapter ceases operation (May).

1990: The North Florida Chapter is chartered (January 9).

1990: The Eastern Carolinas Chapter is chartered (November 1).

1991: The Capital Region New York Chapter is chartered (Sept. 24).

1992: The Quebec Chapter is chartered (June 6).

1992: The Central Texas Chapter is chartered (September 8).

1992: The Kentucky Chapter (no longer active) is chartered (September 12).

1993: The American River Chapter changes its name to the Northern California Chapter.

1995: The Alabama Chapter is chartered (March 2)

1995: The Rochester Chapter is chartered (June 8).

1995: The Eastern Carolinas Chapter changes its name to the Raleigh Chapter (August 1).

1997: The Southern Nevada Chapter is chartered (July 25).

1997: The Delaware Valley Chapter changes its name to the Philadelphia Chapter (September 27).

1998: The Ottawa Region Chapter is chartered (April 8).

1998: The Omaha Chapter is chartered (August 29).

1998: The East Tennessee Chapter is chartered (September 15).

1999: The West Coast Florida Chapter is chartered (December 14).

2000: The Columbia Chapter is chartered (April 28).

2000: The Palmetto State Chapter changes its name to the Greenville Chapter (Spring).

2000: The Connecticut Chapter is chartered (June 28).

2000: The Johnstown Chapter is chartered (September 20).

2000: The Piedmont Chapter changes its name to the Charlotte Chapter.

2001: The Orange County Chapter is chartered (June 27).

2002: The Virginia Blue Ridge Chapter is chartered (December 10).

2004: The Silicon Valley Chapter ceases operation (January).

2004: New Mexico and Kentucky are declared to no longer be viable chapters and are not rechartered (June).

July 29, 2004: A group of ASPE members in Puerto Rico holds a preliminary chapter formation meeting.

Sept. 16, 2004: Dallas/Fort Worth Chapter President Kelvin Kennedy inagurates the Tulsa Chapter as a Dallas/Ft. Worth satellite chapter.

2009: The Puerto Rico Chapter is chartered (April 17).

2010: The Seattle Chapter is chartered (January 25).

2011: The Long Island Chapter is chartered (January 25).

2012: The ASPE board of directors votes to make Oklahoma City a Satellite Chapter under the jurisdiction of the Dallas/Ft. Worth Chapter (January 21).

2012: ASPE's first Student Chapter is established at the Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston (January 31).

2012: A Student Chapter is formed at the Illinois Institute of Technology.

2012: The Evansville Chapter is chartered as a satellite of the Central Indiana Chapter (September 29).

2014: A Student Chapter is formed at the Milwaukee School of Engineering.

2015: The Greater Toronto Area Chapter is chartered (May 20).

2016: The Oklahoma Chapter is chartered (August 30).
