Thrust Blocks
Is a thrust bock required at the off take tee in a mains to feed a facility? Uni Bell's Handbook of PVC Pipe 4th Ed shows Types of Thrust blocking in Figure 10.5 Page 406. In 1 it shows water flowing against the thrust block. In the above case water will be flowing away from the thrust block.
In Frankel's Facility Piping Systems Handbook 3rd Ed Page 6.106 shows the minimum excavation dimensions but does not show any thrust block. Do we require a thrust block on the opposite side of the valve at the Tee?
Is this covered in any of the codes or standards.

When in doubt it may be necessary to calculate the resultant forces to be sure.
Depening upon if all the flows are in the same plane and if the sizes are reduced or not will change the total area of thrust blocks required.
Without a drawing it is difficult to say.
