FU's for Low-flow fixtures for Waste Line Sizing
I am looking for revised waste-line sizing tables that address the new low-flow water closets and urinals. My work is almost exclusively renovation design, and I am concerned that in older buildings, resizing downstream piping may be necessary to assure enough "carry". I have had little success finding fuxture-units and am hoping that a colleage who is more familiar with this subject can send me in the right direction.
Hi Riley
I guess the Forums aren't as popular as Facebook otherwise I suppose you would have had an answer. In case you haven't discovered, the National Standard Plumbing Code Tables in Chapter 11, Sanitary Drainage Systems and they assign 4 dfu for 1.6 gpf flush valve water closets and 4 dfu for 1.0 gpf flush valve urinals. There are a slew of other applications in the tables too. If you have access I would recommend looking it over. If not, let me know and I may be able to send you the tables.
Best,
Tony
Thanks Tony,
Yes, the ASPE Forums are not as popoullar as Facebook, but since I don't subscribe to Facebook, MYface or any other social network site I probably would'nt have found an answer there anyway. Thanks for your answer. I did find a code / table that gave me similar FCU's, but not that particular one. If you can, I'd appreciate it if you could send me the tables but I'm not sure how to keep my e-mail / network secure if I post my e-mail address here. Any idea's?
Mike
I am also trying to find revised numbers on fixture units. The project is a renovation of a high rise apartment that will have all low flow fixtures. We will have storage tanks located on the ground floor. I figure that since all fixtures are low flow, the storage tank would be considerably smaller than a tank with all baseline fixtures. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.
