ASPE Convention & Exposition Named One of the Top 50 Fastest-Growing Tradeshows in 2012

The American Society of Plumbing Engineers (ASPE) is pleased to announce that its biennial Convention & Exposition will be honored as one of the fastest-growing tradeshows in 2012 in terms of total attendance at Trade Show Executive’s Fastest 50 Awards & Summit in Chicago this May.

ASPE’s Convention & Exposition, produced by the American Society of Plumbing Engineers and managed by National Trade Productions (NTP), is the largest tradeshow in the United States designed exclusively for the plumbing engineering community. It is the only truly educational tradeshow offered to plumbing industry professionals and showcases the largest display of plumbing design products and services available anywhere. The 2012 ASPE Convention & Exposition, held in Charlotte, North Carolina last October, attracted plumbing industry professionals from across North America with new technologies offered by the 310 exhibiting companies and new features such as the New Product Innovation Showcase, which helped boost total attendance to 4,161, an increase of 12 percent over 2010.

“The 2012 ASPE Convention & Exposition was the culmination of two years of dedicated work by volunteers, staff, and our partners NTP and Freeman,” says ASPE Executive Director/CEO Jim Kendzel, MPH, CAE. “The growth of the event is directly related to their commitment to ensuring that participants have a positive experience. Throughout the show, I heard nothing but praise from the exhibitors and the attendees about the value they were receiving by attending.”

Trade Show Executive’s Fastest 50 honors the fastest-growing shows held in the United States during the previous year. Winners are selected based on percentage of growth in each of the following categories: net square feet, number of exhibiting companies, and number of attendees. This year, three other shows managed by NTP made the list: Coverings (in two categories), NCEA (National Catholic Educational Association) Convention & Expo, and the Electric Vehicle Symposium.

“NTP is honored to have several client shows recognized on this coveted industry list,” says Andrew Ortale, Executive Vice President for National Trade Productions. “We are also grateful to Trade Show Executive for continuing to showcase the achievements of the trade show industry.”

ASPE’s Convention & Exposition is held biennially, and the next event—featuring ASPE’s 50th anniversary celebration—will be held in Chicago, Illinois on September 20–24, 2014. For more information about the ASPE Convention & Exposition, visit aspe.org/expo.
